LandScape Vision is a basic landscape design product, which sells on its simplicity and exceptionally thorough plant library. While the program isn't quite as robust as other landscaping software, it's easy to use and they've improved the look of their plants and other landscaping library objects.
Landscape Vision is extremely easy to use. This is one of its strengths, as you can simply drag items onto your property picture and resize them as needed.
LandScape Vision contains basic features such as digital photo importing tools that allows you to build a landscape around your home.
The program also offers a comprehensive, well–designed foliage library that includes detailed plant descriptions, accurate photos and interesting information on over 1,000 plants. LandScape Vision’s plant library was the most detailed of any landscape design products we reviewed. LandScape Vision also includes a United States hardiness map, so you know which plants will work best in your climate.
To add landscape features to your property, such as trees, you must first "mulch" the area. Plants and feature images are resizable, but you must use a menu option to do this; you can’t simply grab and stretch images. Also, you cannot age plants to see how your landscape will appear years down the road.
Landscape Vision also keeps a blog where they post helpful gardening tips regularly.
After you design your landscape, LandScape Vision allows you to print a shopping list.
LandScape Vision’s help files include a video tutorial, but no other help is available. Though informative, the tutorial was slow. There is no way to minimize or fast–forward the tutorial, and must be manully closed upon completion. If you have a new question, you must reopen and play the tutorial all over again. We felt this was a nuisance.
LandScape Vision is a simple program, without bells and whistles. We recommend this program for those who don’t care for complex landscape design tools, and are interested in plant life.
